In November, the YMCA celebrates Peace Week! This year it’ll be November 17-24.

Some of the Events are:

YMCA Yoga for Peace

This event is a part of YMCA Peace Week! The YMCA chose yoga as a way to celebrate peace and peacebuilding because the tradition of yoga reminds us that peace starts with each of us.

YMCA Personal Hygiene Product Collection

This event is a part of YMCA Peace Week! Providing to those in need is vital to the well-being of each individual and every community. Help us promote a sense of responsibility with our Personal Hygiene Product Collection.

Throughout Peace Week (November 17-24), drop off your donation of a personal hygiene product at the YMCA or any YMCA Child Care Centre.

All donations will be given to the Crisis Centre North Bay.

YMCA Peace Medal Ceremony

A special highlight of this week is the presentation of YMCA Peace Medals to individuals or groups who, without any special resources, demonstrate a commitment to the values of PEACE through contributions made within their local, national or global community. Peacemakers are recognized for promoting and inspiring: Participation, Empathy, Advocacy, Community and

Empowerment.
