A day after the North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit reported a harmful algae bloom had been discovered in Lake Nosbonsing another one has been revealed.

The one is in Commanda Lake.

The health unit advises that the toxins in harmful algae can irritate the skin and, if swallowed, cause diarrhea and vomiting.

A reminder for residents not to use the water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and brushing teeth, don’t swim and avoid water sports when the bloom is present.

As well, the advisory says using a private water system or boiling the water will not destroy the toxins.
