North Bay OPP report a couple of separate wildlife-related collisions last night in the area.

First two bear cubs were struck on Hwy 17 in Bonfield, but someone left them for someone else to hit or clean-up.

Police say a good Samaritan from Bonfield stopped to warn people about the cubs in the live lanes.

OPP say if you hit an animal you need to stop and make sure it’s off the roadway and can be held liable if someone else hits it.

The other crash on Hwy 11 in Trout Creek involved a moose.

The collision totalled a Niagara On The Lake resident’s vehicle.

There were no human injuries in either incident, but police say sadly the animals did not survive.
