Local officials are looking to fill in the gaps when it comes to affordable housing in the area.

The District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board and Nipissing District Housing Corporation are seeking expressions of interest involving concepts and potential affordable housing development opportunities.

Officials say the goal is to increase housing stock for low-income individuals and families in Nipissing District.

They point out there is currently a shortfall of about 250 rent-geared-to-income units in the district.

Expressions of Interest must be submitted by September 30th, 2020.
