It’ll likely be the end of August before a section of Chippewa Street between High and Fraser Streets is back open.

This as the city says work to install above-and below- ground infrastructure continues as part of the ongoing reconstruction of Cassells Street.

Officials say the closure includes the intersection at Chippewa and Cassells streets and allows for local access only.

Detours are set up on High and Fraser streets.

To help alleviate traffic congestion, Princess Street from Fraser to High is open and will allow for a north/south connection between both detour routes.

Cassells Street from King to Princess streets will remain closed with access by local traffic only.

The city is asking pedestrians using Chippewa Street to use extra caution when crossing the roadway.
