A couple from Florida has been charged with failing to comply with an order prohibiting entry into Canada under a section of the Quarantine Act.

Police say they were contacted to do a compliance check in East Ferris Township.

Police say a two people entered Canada at Fort Erie earlier this month to attend a seasonal property and didn’t comply with the mandatory 14-day self-isolation requirement upon entering Canada.

They were each fined $1000.

The North Bay Parry Sound District Health Unit is also engaged in this matter and both individuals are currently being monitored during isolation.
