The province’s Special Investigations Unit says officers went above and beyond what was required in the line of duty in trying to save a man’s life last October.

The SIU says there are no grounds for charges in the drowning death and the case is closed.

North Bay Police, fire fighters and paramedics attempted to convince a man to come out of the water and attempts were made to search for him after he disappeared below the water.

His body was recovered the next day by OPP divers.
