The 6th annual Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History took on a much different look this year, but officials say the virtual event was a success.

Organizers announced that despite COVID-19 and the restrictions placed on their ability to host pre-walk events and fundraisers, more than $39,000 has been raised.

Funds support the critical initiatives Cystic Fibrosis Canada has planned for this upcoming year, including advocacy work to promote access to life saving medicines.

The North Bay community took part in a number of activities on Sunday, from walking, running biking, crafting, jumping, dancing and more, all to raise Cystic Fibrosis awareness.

KiSS 100.5 morning show host Kevin Oschefski (pictured) issued a 10 for 10 challenge and did a 30 km walk/run on behalf of the known CF fighters/families in the community.

Award winners were also announced:
– Friend of the chapter (Business award): Good Glaze Doughnuts
– Chapter Volunteer of the year award: Mackenzie Daley
– Team Fundraising award: Team Evan- Raising more than $8000.00 (our newest and youngest member of the local CF community)
