Mental Health professionals say some people are feeling anxious and even depressed as they deal with COVID-19.

Alan McQuarrie is Executive Director of the Community Counselling Centre of Nipissing.

“They began to ruminate over it and start to feel depressed that the current situation will never end and people start to feel helpless and those feelings can start to feel overpowering for many people,” he says.

He says there are positive tips to deal with this.

“It’s amazing what having a regular routine will do in order to keep your mind set positive. Also, the basis of getting enough sleep, not having too much caffeine and not staying up late watching movies well into the night,” McQuarrie says.

Other tips include eating healthy and getting plenty of exercise.
