14 cases of COVID-19 are now being reported in the district.

The Health Unit says the latest case is of a woman in her 50’s and she is self isolating .

The health unit says the virus was acquired through community transmission.

There are now eleven cases in Nipissing and three in Parry Sound.

Six of the total cases are resolved, four patients are in hospital and four are self-isolating.

For the 2nd time this month, Caisse Alliance has made a major donation in support of those impacted by COVID-19.

Over $23,000 is going to organizations that provide essential services.

The funds come from Caisse members.

Earlier, Caisse announced a $50,000 donation to food banks.

Nipissing East Regional Manager, Norm St-Amour says in these difficult times it’s important to assist the most vulnerable people and to help save lives.

Marcy Lemieux, Caisse Alliance Nipissing Central Regional Manager says donations like electronic tablets to elderly people in either hospital or nursing homes will help them stay in touch with loved ones during this difficult time.

Caisse is also providing support with a recent donation of 5,000 N95 masks at the West Nipissing General hospital.

The city says due to COVID-19 the daytime and evening Armed Forces Day events that were scheduled for Wednesday June 10th have been cancelled.

As well, the Friends of Laurier Woods has cancelled its Annual General Meeting previously scheduled for Thursday, April 16th.

and The North Bay Police Services April board meeting has been cancelled.
