The Cassells Street reconstruction project is set to resume on Monday.

The city says the province has said construction projects can continue during the recently announced shut-down of non-essential businesses, with Kenalex providing training to their employees for dealing with COVID-19.

That will include social distancing, cleanliness, disinfection, etc.

All contact between property owners and Kenalex personnel will be minimized using paper handouts, phone calls, and posted notices to City’s website to provide construction updates.

The phase that starts on Monday involves a sanitary sewer being installed next to Chippewa Creek, with flagging personnel on Cassells Street.

In mid-April the road will be closed until early June between King and Chippewa for re-construction work.

This summer, from early June to the end of September will see work on Cassells from Chippewa to Olive, including the Chippewa Creek Bridge.

Phase four, from mid-September to the end of October involves reconstruction of the road from Olive to the bypass.

The final phase which includes paving, landscaping and other work from King to the bypass will take place October 28th to November 15th.
