The state of Gertude Street with the ongoing construction project there has been the subject of a few calls of late to Councillor Bill Vrebosch, despite the fact there’s a global pandemic underway.
He says he talked with city staff and there’s still some more work to do this spring on the Sewage Pumping Station project.
“It’s due for the middle of April, the installation being finished, then they just have to wait for the weather to finish the road, but I couldn’t believe it, I got about three calls on that thing because I guess Gertrude Street itself is in rough shape,” Vrebosch says.
He says the project will be welcome news in West Ferris once it’s complete.
“For years and years that Ferris area has suffered, a big storm hits you get sewage backups in their basements, this new system will take a lot of that away because it will increase the flow in both directions,” he says.
Vrebosch also says they’re getting calls about pot holes, but the patch work doesn’t really last that long.
