A local resident has put out the call for kids to help brighten the day of seniors in North Bay.

Emma Jones says with activities cancelled and visitors on hold because of COVID-19, she wakes up everyday and thinks about seniors at Barclay House where she used to work. That’s why she posted her request on Facebook.

“Just asking if any parents out there with children that would like to get creative and possibly make some artwork or a card, I could figure out a way to get them to the seniors to add a bit of a spark to the day,” she says.

Jones says so far the reception has been great with artwork coming from across Canada.

“I have artwork that is now being mailed to me from Victoria, Vancouver, Pembroke, Sudbury, Guelph and of course, locally in North Bay,” she says.

Jones says all precautions will be taken to keep physical distancing protocols and safety measures in place.
