The Nipissing Lakers women’s hockey team lost game one of their second round playoff series 5-2 to York last night.

Brianna Gaffney and Teagan Feltz scored for the Lakers in the loss.

Game two in the best-of-three series is tomorrow afternoon in Toronto.

If necessary, game three will be played Sunday in North Bay.

A couple of road games this weekend for the North Bay Battalion.

They’re in Erie tomorrow then play Niagara on Sunday.

 

In the NOJHL, the Powassan Voodoos wrap up the regular season at home to Hearst tonight and tomorrow then entertain Espanola on Sunday.

The Voodoos have already clinched home ice advantage throughout the playoffs, with a first round bye.

 

At the OCAA women’s volleyball championship, host Canadore lost 3-0 to Humber last night.

The quarterfinals go tonight at the Education Centre with St Clair playing Fanshawe and Durham taking on Humber.

The bronze and gold medal games will be played tomorrow.
