The North Bay Battalion have another busy week with three games in four days. First up is a home game tonight against Guelph.

The Storm are seventh in the west and have dropped 10 in a row.

But, Coach Ryan Oulahen says they’ll be playing a hungry hockey team.

“It’s not going to be easy. They’re a good hockey team and they’re in a bit of a slide right now. They will have a lot of intentions to win in our building. We can’t be blind to that and we have to be ready for that,” he says.

The Battalion are 2-2 in their last four games and are 10th in the east.

Oulahen is hoping for a more consistent effort from his team.

He says they’re playing hard and some good things are happening, but improvement is needed too.

“We’ve responded to some tough outings which is good. That’s a positive. At the same time, we haven’t followed up our really strong games with a good performance, that’s our big issue right now, ” he says.

Oulahen says the inconsistencies are happening game to game, and period to period.

Broadcast time on Country 600 CKAT is 6:50 pm.

In the NOJHL, Tomas Yachmenev led the attack with an eight point night in the Powassan Voodoos 10-0 win over the French River Rapids last night.

He scored five goals and three assists in the victory.

“I give it my all each and every game, but this wouldn’t happen if not for my teammates which I really appreciate. I really enjoyed that game and now it’s time to move on to the next one,” says Yachmenev

Five other Voodoos added singles with goaltender Owen Say making 38 saves to earn the shutout.

The Voodoos are back in action tomorrow night in Kirkland Lake, then travel to Noelville on Saturday to play the Rapids again.
