2019 saw plenty of non-perishable food donations to the North Bay Food Bank and officials are thanking the community for it’s support.

They posted on social media that over 174,000 pounds of food was donated last year.

That’s 20,000 pounds more than the year before.

They also say 10,200 clients were served last year, with 740 new faces.

Nearly 5,700 households in North Bay and Redbridge were served last year.

Meantime, Parker’s Your Independent Grocer ran a Holiday Checkout Campaign in December and presented the food bank with a cheque for $3985.72.

“Monetary donations like this gift help the Food Bank to purchase necessary, fresh and non-perishable food items that go into our food hampers,” said Amber Livingstone, manager of the North Bay Food Bank. “Stuart Parker continues to be a champion for the Food Bank, and we value his ongoing support of our organization, and the clients we serve.”
