After plenty of off-ice news this week the North Bay Battalion turn their attention to the ice tonight for a match-up with the Erie Otters at Memorial Gardens.

New head coach Ryan Oulahen has his first game behind the bench.

He expects the transition to be smooth with a good support staff.

“I have Scott Wray and Bill Houlder as assistants and that’s phenomenal. I see this job as a collaborative approach with co-coaching behind the bench and at practices. Everything will be done together,” he says.

Oulahen say he has had plenty of support from now former coach Stan Butler.

“He’s been absolutely amazing and he always will be. I played under Stan and the philosophies and fundamentals that he has taught is ingrained in us,” he says.

He also says he bleeds green.

“Since I played for the Battalion I’ve had two green vehicles and I always seem to buy green jackets. It is in me,” Oulahen says.

Broadcast time tonight on Country 600 CKAT is 6:50 pm.
