Thousands of area hydro customers were left in the dark for about 20 minutes or so this afternoon.

A power outage around 1:45 pm was restored shortly after 2 pm.

Hydro One tweeted the outage was caused by an issue with one of the transformers at their Trout Lake Station.

North Bay Hydro earlier reported about 14,000 customers were impacted.

Witnesses on Lakeshore Drive reported nearly all drivers were treating all intersections and traffic lights that were dark, as four way stops.
