The North Bay Battalion start the pre-season on the road Friday.

They’re in Kitchener for the pre-season showcase.

The Troops play the host Rangers on Friday and then meet Peterborough Saturday and Saginaw on Sunday.

Assistant coach Adam Dennis this will be a good first look at the team in head to head competition.

“You get on the road. Some of the new guys get a chance to play. It’s also a good team bonding experience. This early you want to see guys make a name for themselves and it’s all about getting ice time and make our roster decisions tough. That’s what we want,” Dennis says.

He says they know they have leadership in veterans Matthew Struthers and Brad Chenier but other players need to step up too now that Justin Brazeau has moved on.
