A 35 year old city woman is facing several charges, including break and enter, after police were called to a report of a person wandering around behind a Hwy 11 north residence Tuesday around 11 am.

Police found a woman had entered a garden shed, and when approached turned to the officers with a hammer in one hand and an aerosol can in the other.

The situation was defused and police made the arrest.

They say 0.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine was seized.

“This is an example of people being observant in their neighbourhood. Working together and following preventative ideas such as ‘Lock it or Lose it’ and ‘Know your Neighbour’ can help keep your neighborhood safe,” says North Bay Police Deputy Chief Michael Daze.

The woman is also charged with assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon dangerous to public peace, possession of a controlled substance and breach of probation.

She was held for a bail hearing.
