North Bay Police have charged two local 29 year old males following an incident on Sunday in which a a person was struck several times with an edged weapon.

Police say the charges include robbery, assault with a weapon and threatening.

Police say the victim went for a car ride with two men and was told to turn over his possessions.

Several items were taken including money and jewellery.

The victim received medical treatment in hospital and has been released.

Police also discovered a small amount of suspected fentanyl and crystal methamphetamine during the arrest of one of the men.

The stolen jewellery was also recovered.
