The power is back on for about 1,200 North Bay Hydro customers this morning.

The utility says the outage happened just after 7:30 am in the Cassells, High, O’Brien and Douglas Streets area, with wildlife in a substation to blame.

One person on social media said a transformer blew, blaming a squirrel, after watching it happen.

The lights were back on around 8:15 am.

North Bay Hydro asks anyone still without power to contact them.
