A 49 year old Nipissing First Nation man has been charged with sexual assault.

The charge stems from an investigation conducted yesterday at Nipissing First Nation.

Police say Ontario Provincial Police, the North Bay OPP Crime Unit, an OPP Critical Incident Commander , the OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit, an OPP Crisis Negotiator, the North East Region OPP Canine Unit and the North East Region Emergency Response Team all assisted in the investigation.

The OPP say they won’t be releasing the name of the man charged n order to protect the identity of the victim.

OPP report three West Nipissing residents are facing drug charges after two search warrants in late June.

A 46 year old man was charged after 35-hundred dollars worth of suspected methamphetamine was seized on June 24th.

Two other West Nipissing residents, in their 30’s were charged the following day after about 16-hundred dollars worth of suspected fentanyl and methamphetamine, and a thousand dollars in cash was seized.
