North Bay City Councillor Mark King is running for the federal Conservative nomination in Nipissing-Timiskaming.

King is currently on his second term as councillor, after being re-elected seven months ago.

In his first term, he was chair of the Community Services Committee.

King has also been chair of the District of Nipissing Social Services Administration Board and vice chair of the Cassellholme board.

He says the District needs to be run more like a business and needs a strong experienced voice at the Federal table.

King is the second candidate so far for the party.

Jordy Carr, a Callander councillor announced her intention last month.

Incumbent MP Anthony Rota has already been nominated by the Liberals.
