The City of North Bay is advising residents to monitor flood conditions this long weekend.

They say the weather could impact water levels and the potential for damage along the Lake Nipissing shoreline.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for the North Bay area.

The forecast is calling for showers tonight and rain tomorrow into Monday, with 20 to 40 mm possible.

Meantime, Nipissing First Nation continues to call for volunteers this weekend for sandbagging efforts on Jocko Point.

In West Nipissing, the Cache Bay boat launch is opening at noon today.

All other boat launches there remain closed.

The Conservation Authority says water levels on Lake Nipissing continue to rise and the Ottawa River remains extremely high at Mattawa.

The flood warning is in effect until Wednesday, May 22nd.

Meantime, BayToday reports a Mattawa resort, that is not affected by flooding, is being devastated by cancellations.

Mattawa River Resort and Cardinal Lodge is located in Papineau-Cameron Township and has not received any flood damage to their cottages or boat launch.
