Boats are the latest concern with all the flooding in the area.

Several boat launches were closed Monday in West Nipissing while Nipissing First Nation is urging boaters to stay away from affected areas to protect vulnerable shorelines.

They also say they’ve gone through 28,000 sand bags, and counting, on Jocko Point.

OPP and Mattawa officials are asking people to stay off boats on the Mattawa and Ottawa Rivers, in the Mattawa area, because the wake will cause the berm to erode.

In North Bay, officials expect the water level on Lake Nipissing to continue to rise 1-2 cm a day over the next several days.

The city continues to advise those in flood-prone areas to closely monitor conditions and take necessary actions to protect their properties.

Sand bag stations are located at Public Works on Franklin Street, Sunset Park and Champlain Park.
