A special weather statement and freezing rain warning are both in effect for the North Bay area.

Environment Canada says freezing rain will change to rain with isolated thunderstorms also possible today.

Rainfall amounts between 15 and 25 mm are possible.

Meantime, the Conservation Authority has issued a water safety statement.

Officials say high flows, unsafe banks and melting ice could be dangerous for people and pets near water courses.

Flooding is not expected.
