Ridesharing is being discussed on two fronts today in the community.

The issue is on the agenda at both this morning’s city police services board meeting and at city council tonight.

The issue has garnered a lot of discussion on social media of late.

Also on Council’s agenda tonight is a long-awaited report on a new multi-use recreational facility.

Back in January, the issue was pulled to get updated information around usage when looking at how many ice pads should be included in a new facility.

A public information centre involving the upcoming construction project at Seymour and the Bypass goes tonight at City Hall.

The session runs from 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

City staff, the contractor, MTO and consulting engineer will all be there to go over the staging and scheduling of the project, including plans for traffic control.

The $6.6 million project is expected to begin this month.
