A Guinness World Record attempt is going to be made locally to raise funds and awareness for the Nipissing Motorcycle Ride For Dad fighting prostate cancer.

Owner of Cor Maximus Khouri Long says they’re looking for people to take part in the largest Exercise Ball Class.

“This is a Guinness Record and last year Toronto broke the record that was in Ireland,” she says. “They had 454 people so we’re looking for 500.”

Long adds that this is a ‘beginner style’ class for all levels, ages 8 years old and up.

“What a great way to promote a healthy lifestyle all while making a difference in the lives of those diagnosed with prostate cancer, ” she says.

Ride for Dad co-chair John Strang explains the donation component to the free event.

“There’s no cost to do it, but we want you to take your record-breaking ball home. It’s a Swiss ball that has been kindly donated by Rebuilt Resources, brand-new, top-grade Swiss ball and you can take it home for a minimum $10 donation to the Nipissing Motorcycle Ride For Dad,” he says.

The event goes June 8th at Canadore, a week before the local Ride For Dad.

The current record is held by the YMCA of Greater Toronto.
