City police have charged three men in a couple separate break-in investigations.

A 27 year old man is facing charges — including break and enter, obstruct police and possession of break-in tools after a police were called to a Galt Street residence on Sunday.

Police say the residence was unoccupied and a person checking the home for the owner found the suspect inside and called police.

Meantime, two city men have been charged with break, enter and theft after police were called Sunday about a break-in that was in progress.

The incident happened on Princess Street in North Bay.

After descriptions of the men were given, police were able to identify them and arrest them both. The property was recovered.

North Bay Police remind the public that break and enters are often a crime of opportunity.

They say the more difficult you make it for thieves to break into your home, the more likely it is that they will move along.

Be aware of suspicious people or vehicles in your neighbourhood and call police immediately if you’re concerned.

Police say they will respond to these calls.

A release goes on to state: “It is the New Year so why not make 2019 the year you make the effort to ‘target harden’ your home. Visit the North Bay Police website in the Community Safety Section and perform your home security audit. There are many helpful prevention ideas in the Home Security Audit Guide.”
