Battalion trade overager to room for Burghardt

The North Bay Battalion are preparing for the return of Luke Burghardt to their lineup.

He retired earlier this season.

On Wednesday,they dealt overage defenseman Cole Cameron to Kitchener on Wednesday for an 8th round pick in the 2022 priority selection.

That leaves the squad with 3 overage players including Burghardt.

Before the trade, Acting head coach Adam Dennis said he expected Burghardt to be on the ice Thursday.

Dennis says Burghardt was on the ice on Monday and Tuesday and looked good.

The Troops will start a road trip Friday in Kitchener.
