Another $1.95 million in provincial funding is flowing to the North Bay Regional Health Centre.

Nipissing MPP and Ontario Finance Minister Vic Fedeli announced the money will allow the hospital to continue operation of 16 beds until March 31st 2019 to alleviate pressures during capacity surges that typically occur surrounding flu season.

“This will also help the hospital continue to deal with ongoing pressures created by the closure of the 66-bed Lady Isabelle long-term care facility in Trout Creek,” said Fedeli in a release.

The money is on top of the $2.04 million announced last week to support 26 transitional care spaces for the hospital.
