Smile Cookies are back for the next week, starting tomorrow (Monday).

The annual fundraiser at Tim Hortons is benefiting Community Living North Bay again this year, with the full $1 from each cookie sale being donated.

The fundraiser helps them continue to build access and inclusion in the community.

Community Living North Bay supports over 500 people with intellectual disabilities and their families by providing a diverse range of inclusion-based services.

Executive Director Sherry Carnevale says the money raised from this initiative makes a big difference for the people they serve.

“We are currently in a capacity building campaign which means we’re looking to increase other forms of revenue so that we can increase the capacity that we have to support individuals in our community who have an intellectual disability,” she says.

The range from services includes the EarlyOn Child and Family Centre, to transitioning from school to helping individuals find employment to finding apartments and homes.
A cheque for $40,000 was presented to Community Living North Bay after last year’s Smile Cookie campaign.

Carnevale says if last year is any indication get your cookies early in the day.

“Our suggestion is get out there very early because last year early in the morning, like 10 or 11, they were running out of cookies due to all the pre-sales that were done,” Carnevale says.
