Plenty of area residents will likely be looking for recognizable landmarks and local actors on the small screen tonight (Tuesday).

The TV show Carter, which was filmed in North Bay, premieres on Bravo at 8 pm.

A special, invite-only screening at the Capitol Centre tonight sees actor Jerry O’Connell return to the city.

Last week he told the Canadian Press he’s looking forward to the event, while also touting the region as a beautiful tourist destination.

“I really do feel like I have a job to do in letting people know that the north is gorgeous and everybody should come up there,” says O’Connell. “Not only is it a beautiful place to shoot, it’s a beautiful place to come visit.”

The show is about a Hollywood actor who returns to his small northern Ontario town and helps solve real crimes.

Last September O’Connell was presented with a key to the city (pictured) by Mayor Al McDonald.
