A big drop in the jobless rate locally, year over year.

Stats Canada reports unemployment in the North Bay area was 5.1 per cent last month.

That’s down 3.7 per cent from April last year.

The standard error was 1.2.

Employment was 56.8, a jump of 2.4 per cent from the same month in 2017.

The Labour Force also included 400 more people this year.

The figures include the City of North Bay, Callander, East Ferris and Bonfield.
