More information on a video released on social media. The video starts off by appearing to show a person picking up drugs.

The person then leaves a downtown residence and gets into a North Bay Police cruiser, which then drives away.

U Need A Cab owner John Strang says the person leaving the residence was originally in one of their cabs and didn’t have enough money to pay a taxi fare and by rule the cab company calls police.

He says the officer took the passenger in the cruiser so they could get what was remaining in the fare.

“The gentleman that appeared in the video pleaded his case to the police. And said I’ve got the money but it’s at another address and I’ve got to get there.” Strang says.

He says the officer then took the person in the video away so they could pay what was owing. Strang says the man in the video wasn’t charged.

“The police officer was just trying to do a good deed, help out our company and not charge this guy. She went above and beyond the call of duty.”, Strang says.
