Gas prices are up around the city.

A litre of regular is now listed just under $1.25 at most fueling pumps.

That’s a price hike of about 15 cents a litre, although GasBuddy.com reports (as of 8 am Friday) there may still be a few deals out there.

This is one of the highest prices motorists have had to dole our for gas this year, according to the Energy Ministry website.

Twelve months ago drivers locally were about to ring in the new year with gas prices that were about 20 cents cheaper than they are now.

The national and provincial average is around $1.18 a litre.
