One sure sign that Christmas is on the way is the Lion’s Children’s Telethon, which goes Saturday from 2pm to 11pm.

There will be plenty of music, entertainment and festive fun with over 35 entertainers taking part.

Chair Gary Verge says funds are raised to support families and children in need throughout the area.

“We try to give a box that has all the treats, food and presents just to make them happy and so that they have something under the tree,” he says.

Verge says you can donate online too.

“We have a PayPal account you can use, or credit card, they can go directly online to make payments or call in and we’ll issue a receipt and they can mail their payment in,” he says.

Catch the telethon on YourTV channels 12 and 700 or listen live on Country 600 CKAT, both on the radio and our app.

The event is also being live streamed at canadoretv.com

For residents in Sundridge/South River, they can watch the telethon at the Friendship Circle Seniors Club from 2 pm to 6pm.

The Kearney Lions, along with the Legion, will be hosting a viewing Party from 3 to 11 pm.

The Legion will be providing a full Turkey Dinner for 13.95.

Donations will be accepted at both venues.
