City Council continues to work towards the development of the Airport Industrial Business Park.

Councillor Daryl Vaillancourt is vice chair of the Community Services Committee.

He says council approved a plan last week to allow the lease, sale and transfer of property in a 7 block area for possible future development.

“It gives us the opportunity that when he do have commercial and industrial clients who are looking for serviced land we are ready to go,” he says.

This is phase 3 of the plan.

Vaillancourt says it’s hard to convince businesses to move to the park if the services aren’t there.

He says they have a lot of land in the area that can be developed and a lot of clients are there now and is confident more are coming.

Vaillancourt says when there are commercial and industrial clients looking to lease or buy property the development can proceed.

“We’re very well positioned we have a lot of land up there. There’s serviced land. We do have some very strong industrial clients that are up there and from what I see there are more to come,” he says.
