Two local hoops players playing for the Lakers

The Nipissing Lakers have a couple of mens basketball recruits and they’re both local.

The players are Keats Vanderlee and Zach Martyn.

Vanderlee, a forward played his high school at St Joseph-Scollard Hall while Martyn another forward suited up at Chippewa.

Coach Chris Cheng says it’s important to keep local players close to home.

Vanderlee was part of the Bears team that took part in the AAA OFSAA after winning the NDA and NOSSA crowns.

Martyn was named Raiders MVP in both grade 11 and 12.
