Police looking to meet with school boards about a proactive program

North Bay Police Chief Shawn Devine (pictured) says they have lost the proactive approach to a police program that has an officer visit area schools.

He says through their research they have found there is more enforcement relating to this position, when the original purpose was to educate students.

Devine says the North Bay Police need to sit down with the area school boards and re-examine this issue.

He says it’s not about pointing fingers, they want an open dialogue on how to proceed further.
