nndsbThe Near North District School Board is hoping to own a small piece of Kennedy Park.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says the city has started a discussion with the board about a potential sale.

He says they would use that land to expand the playground for the new Pinewood Public School. 

King says the board wants 1.1 acres of the land which is technically inside the Kennedy Park boundaries.

King says council has agreed to open the discussion process, but nothing has been decided yet.

He says they will have public consolation on the issue as well.

King says there are three houses adjacent to the property that could provide some input.
