North Bay PoliceNorth Bay Police report charges have been filed after a female victim was allegedly sexually assaulted by a man known to her on October 5th.

A 21 year old North Bay man is charged with four counts, including sexual assault on a person under 16, sexual interference on a person under 16, breach of recognizance and unauthorized possession of a weapon.

Police say a spring-loaded pocket knife was seized.

The investigation continues but police don’t believe there are any other victims.

They also say the man’s name is not being released, in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim.

The man was held in custody for a show cause hearing, which was held yesterday (Thursday).
