NU_LAKERS_RGBThe Nipissing Lakers soccer teams were in action  against the Laurentian Voyageurs.

The men’s team walked of the field victorious, while the women’s side fell short. Early in the game, the women had a 2-1 lead, however once the second half of the game begun, the Vees had 4 consecutive goals to get a final score of 5-2. Katie Koenjer and Rachel Haine were the goal scorers for Nipissing.

The men’s side however, lucked out with an own goal against the Vees. Laurentian then tied the game late in the first, only to have the Lakers score 3 more goals for a final score of 4-2. Jean-Michel Paulin scored twice for the Lakers while Brandon TeBrake and Grainger Munro picked up the final 2 points.

Both teams are set for a rematch this Wednesday with the women hitting the field at 5, while the men follow at 7:30.

Meantime the Lakers Men’s Hockey team was also in action on Saturday, where they wrapped up their pre-season with a 4-2 win over Western. In exhibition play, the Lakers final record was 3-2.
