19Aug2015_NBPS_StreetCrimeDrugSeizureNorth Bay Police have charged people after the street crime unit observed a drug transaction taking place.  Police say the transaction took place on Lakeshore Drive at Premier Road around 4 pm on Wednesday. Police say they executed two search warrants: one on Main Street West and the other on Lakeshore Drive. Five people all from North Bay have been charged overall: 31 year old Eric Robert Weckwerth, 24 year old   Jessica P Betts, 30 year old Andrew Kenneth John Broadhead, 28 year old Tiffany Caldwell and 27 year old Ana Elizabeth Butler. 

Four of the five have been charged  with possession for the purpose of trafficking in Cocaine and Oxycodone while the other trafficking in Cocaine.

Three of the five have also been charged with trafficking in Marijuana.

Four of the five have also charged with possession of property obtained by crime. 

Police say they seized 235 grams of Cocaine, 102 Oxycodone Pills, 35 Grams of Cannabis Marijuana and 7 bundles of Canadian currency valued between 50 and 60 Thousand Dollars. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated at 44 Thousand Dollars.
As well, a 36 year old city man is facing several charges following a report of a domestic assault. 

Police say on several occasions last month and this, verbal arguments between two people turned violent when the male physically assaulted the female.

Also, , the male threw objects at her, sexually assaulted her, threatened her, attempted to prevent her from leaving and damaged a personal item. 

Police will not be releasing the name of the accused to protect the victims identity.

The charges include four counts of assault, two counts of assault with a weapon, one count of uttering threats, one count of sexual assault, one count of forcible confinement and one count of mischief under 5 Thousand Dollars.
