A two hour search on Friday in the West Ferris area has led to the arrest of a 31 year old man.

North Bay Police received word of a male on Lakeshore Drive who fit the description of a suspect they had been looking for in connection with numerous thefts from vehicles.

Once the male saw the police vehicles he fled on foot.

The search by police and a tracking canine took place through yards and outbuildings of local residences, while the suspect would hide and move to different locations. Local residents assisted in locating the man after an almost two hour search.

Tyler Straughn of no fixed address is charged with assault, theft, possession of stolen property and assaulting police.
