SIUThe Special Investigations Unit has identified the person killed in a single vehicle crash earlier this week in Lavigne.

The deceased is 30 year old Thomas Caleb Fremlin of Sudbury.

A team of investigators continues to look into the crash.

Earlier this week, the SIU said preliminary information is that around 11:30 Tuesday night, West Nipissing Police received a call regarding a Jeep Cherokee being driven by a man, with officers dispatched to locate him.

One officer saw the vehicle, attempted to follow it and lost sight of it soon after.

The SIU goes on to says around 11:45 pm, police received a call that a vehicle had struck a tree on Highway 64, and was engulfed in flames.

The driver of the jeep succumbed to his injuries.
