Police (north bay)Bike patrol officers responded to over 36,000 calls last summer. Police Chief Paul Cook says they are an integral part of the Police Force during the summer months. He says they have so many different major public events during the summer and this is an easier more efficient way to have their officers interacting with the public. He adds these are fully trained officers, who can still ticket residents for speeding and other offences, with 2400 charges filed last year.

Cook says they get a lot of positive feedback from the community about the bike patrol officers.

He says they are very approachable and help out residents who utilize the trails, waterfront and the downtown. Bike Patrol officers will soon be out in North Bay for summer 2015.
