Changes are coming once again to North Bay’s Transit Service.

Chair of Community Services Mark King says Council has approved continuing service to on Highway 11 North.

He says “the employers and employees got very involved with it, and there’s going to be very little cost (to make these changes) probably less than $1500 per year.”

Councillor Daryl Vaillancourt says he doesn’t agree with returning service to north highway since they seem to be giving false hope to that area.

Vaillancourt says down the road it will probably get cancelled again.

Chair of Engineering and Works Tanya Vrebosch says she doesn’t agree with the policy of making these changes as they have already set their budget.

She says “it’s not saying that we can change our minds if citizens complain, we should have listened in the first place and we would have avoided this in the long run and now we have extra added pressures on our budgets.”

The changes are just a trial period that will be revisited in a year.

There will be three trips down that route per day.
