Laurier WoodsThe Friends of Laurier Woods is putting on weekly spring interpretive hikes every Saturday in May starting tomorrow (May 2nd).

Past president of the Friends of Laurier Woods is Dick Tafel.

He says the hike is about 2 kilometres but there’s plenty of birds to check out.

He says they may have 100 species of birds at different times during the month and you’ll be able to see and hear them.

Tafel says the foliage will change too during the month as we get further into spring.

He says the walks begin at 9 am and there’s no cost.

The walks start at the parking lot at the end of Brule Street.

Tafel says it’s a great chance to check out one of the jewels of North Bay the Laurier Woods Preserve.
